Even Worse Than We Had Hoped
    By Paul Spelman

Book Synopsis

Part memoir, part examination of the TV business, Even Worse Than We Had Hoped pulls back the curtain on broadcast journalism while recounting one reporter’s journey through the trenches of local TV news. The title comes from a newsroom colleague’s enthusiastic reaction to the devastation wrought by a possible tornado — the damage was even worse than he had hoped.  Much like that remark, Even Worse Than We Had Hoped captures the essence of local TV news, while telling a funny and fascinating story about a reporter trying to make it to TV’s “major leagues.”
